A detective living a happy married life learns that a man he once arrested has escaped from prison. The fugitive commits a string of robberies and rapes, and ultimately takes his former lover as hostage - the same woman who is now the detective's wife. The criminal continues his exploits while evading capture, all while weilding the detective's gun and repeatedly assaulting the detective's wife.
